A Land of Mists and Mystery. Boothorpe in the National Forest.
Covid lockdown Chronicle 2. Describing a lone ten mile circular jaunt from the small South Derbyshire market town of Melbourne. Pulling in a gentle climb to the top of an ancient hill fort to discover the Saxon carving of a classical angel, before descending down to a twentieth century play ground surrounded by a Medieval Park Pale. A wander through some Victorian lead mines belonging to the time capsule of an 18th century country house with its 1000 year old parkland oak tree. Finishing with a gentle wander along the west shore of Staunton Harold Reservoir.

The Ashby Round, or the alternative Ivanhoe Way.
Moors
The Ashover Jaunt. Discovering a hidden gem of the Peak District.
A reflection. Part of the Ivanhoe Way Walk that encircles the ancient market town of Ashby de la Zouch in North West Leicestershire. My home town. There are times in a man;s life when he’s forced to stop and pinch himself; Just to make sure.
Nostalgia
A trinity of symbols for Easter. The palm, the crown of thorns and the Judas tree.
Social isolation in a North West Leicestershire wood.
A lone journey through a Dark Peak Clough.
Portents. Following Ewden Beck up on to the distant Broom Head Moor, Stainery Clough and Candlerush Dike in the Dark Peak of Derbyshire.
The Barton under Needwood 9.5 mile circular walk. Pulling in the hamlet of Wychnor, the village of Alrewas, Yoxall Meadows and Dunstall Park.

The ancient Oaks of Keddleston Park in the North Midlands of England
True Grit.
A walk from Duffield through a secret part of pastoral England. An ancient Celtic highway with shadows of Napoleon. Dark Satanic Mills. A World War Two bomb hole ! And a middle class playground leading to a rebel Norman Baron’s castle, all seen in one 6.5/7 mile walk.
Burrough Hill
A short 3.5 mile walk through the delightful countryside around Alport Hights. The last gritstone bastion of the southern Peak District. Situated to the south east of the small market town of Wirksworth in Central Derbyshire.
The West Leake and Gotham Woodlands Walk.
Carvers Rocks and Formark Reservoir.
Ravensdale
A Walk Around Thornton Reservoir and Browns Wood On Charnwood Forest in Leicestershire.
